Security
Visual Analytics for intelligence, police investigations, journalism, cyber security, disaster prevention and crisis response, with a focus on critical infrastructures, and criminal intelligence analysis.
In recent years security aspects have obtained a more and more important role not only for governments, but also for individuals e.g. when traveling or working with networked computers. Many of the problems in security applications boil down to information overload issues in the data analysis process. The goal of our research is thus to develop visual analytics methods for network security and critical infrastructures, which help to solve some of these problems by combining the analyst’s background knowledge with modern computers’ vast processing capabilities through interactive visual interfaces.
